RAKUTEN NORTH AMERICAN LAUNCH
Rakuten, while HUGE in Asia (think Amazon & Visa had a baby) had almost no name recognition in the US. This campaign, which premiered during the 2019 Grammy Awards, aimed to change that.
We wanted to shy away from the “Coupon Clipper” vibe that many loyalty and discount programs project, as it’s a huge turn off to savvy online shoppers. Our goal was to position Rakuten as every bit as premium as the brands and products they offered rebates on.
